I think New York Student Travel has gotten easier and easier. With the advent of so many apps starting from foursquare to gogobot.com and so many hostel booking engines, online subway and bus maps…this city has become fairly easy to navigate. Many discounts are available online it’slike the Group travel discounts that were once only available to groups. Even the NYC Pass can be ordered online and picked up within minutes of ordering. What an age we live in!
NY Skyride: Happy to see that access has gotten easier to all the great deals on things to in the city. They are always amazing deals for every trip budget to NYC.

We only had 3 days do to tours in New York City…and this town really never sleeps as at all! Utterly exhausted now but we took a carriage ride through Central Park, a New York bus tour on the Double Decker bus, museums (MOMA is amazing as was Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum!), a pub crawl, and the skyride at the Empire State Building.
This is such a great city…can’t wait to go back!
NY Skyride: Wow you sure took advantage of your 3 days and most for what New York had to offer. Also the city can't wait to have you back!

One thing you can always say about this city…there are always things to see in New York! I’m a native New Yorker and the last time I ‘toured’ my own city , I was a young student. So I looked around…OMG! I rented a bike at Bike N Roll, did a walking tour with Uncle Sam’s walking tours, visited for Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum (embarrisingly for the first time). Also went to the Empire State Building Observation deck and the New York Skyride with a Combo ticket. I even managed an hour at the new CSI exhibit which was quite interesting though a bit pricey ( as most NY things are)
Even if you’re a native…this town always has stuff to do!
NY Skyride: Wow! Sight seeing should be your middle name. Also your right there is always something to do in this city for evey kind of budget.

Just saw the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! WOW!Talk about fun things to do in New York! Always watched it on TV as a kid but never saw it live!! We needed something to do afterwards with the kids so walked south a few blocks and did the Skyride and the Empire State Building Observation Deck, both open on Thanksgiving. New York is truly the city that never sleeps!
NY Skyride: Gald to hear you had a great time. When looking for great family fun NY's only virtual tour is the way to go.

When people come to New York, the first thing that goes through their mind is “I need a tour in New York City”. But what is a tour of New York?
Tours in New York can be a New York City bus tour like Gray Line or City Sights, it can be a boat ride for 1,2 or 3 hours on Circle Line Cruises, or something extravagant like any one of the (rather expensive but unique) NYC helicopter tours.
But there are other unique ways to really slow down a bit and get in depth experience of the many different facets that make up this great city. One way is any one of the fabulous walking tour companies in new York from Big Onion, Uncle Sam;s New York and Tours with the Levy’s. Tours are available in history (past and present), food, shopping, art, music and so much more.
Another way to tour the town is by bike. Helmets are mandatory in New York and other than using good common sense and keeping your wits about you when riding the streets, biking is a great way to go. Most of New York is pretty flat and the city has recently added many miles of special bike lanes unique to cyclers. Various companies like Bike n’ Roll and Central Park Bike rentals are some of the better known companies for these tours. Some even offer guided bike tours as well if you are skeptic about doing it on your own.
Other unique ways of touring include the pedicabs (similar to asian countries), and segway transports.
So what is a tour of New York? Anything you want it to be!

With prices so expensive in NY, we found a way to see the city and still get to what’s equivalent to group travel discounts. By visitingnewyorkattractionpasses.com, we got a great overview of various top flite discount passes. While AAA and other organizations have good discounts, you need to belong to them to take advantage of discounted tours on new York..
This site explained the passes really well – which ones work on a time frame vs. which ones work on how many places you can see. We liked the amount of things you could do with the NYC Pass but in the end settled on the Explorer Pass which allowed us to do New York at a more leisurely pace.
NY Skyride: Thank you for the tips! NYC tourist attractions can be very valuable when using NYC Pass packages like the Explorer Pass and the New York Pass, the latter available right here on our website!

For eco minded folks like me looking for fun things to do in new York, I did a couple of walking tours. For no particular reason, after looking at their reviews on tripadvisor I settled on Uncle Sam’s New York. I did two 2 hour tours with them. After going on the SKYRIDE and the Empire State Building, I sort of picked out 2 areas that I thought would be of interest. One was the South Street seaport and the other was the Alexander Hamilton Financial tour.
As a former native New Yorker I came with a bit of concern if this would really be interesting. Those concerns were immediately allayed as their guides were terrific and the tours were most interesting and entertaining. While there are smartphone applications and guide books, both of which are informative, there is nothing like a human talking to you to make the experience complete.
NY Skyride: It's great to hear you enjoyed your tour! With so many fun things to do in New York, a walking tour does make a great compliment to NY Skyride.

Sightseeing New York City is one big monster when you’re ill equipped to handle it. There are books, maps, guides pamphlets…you’ll practically drown in a city that’s open 24 hours a day.
With so many things to see in New York I suggest you start thinking about using a smartphone to help you. There are apps for coupons and discounts (Groupon, LivingSocial, Goldstar), reviews (Tripadvisor), planners (Gogobot.com), and so much more. New York City sightseeing can even be done via a walking tours available shortly on a smartphone!
NY Skyride: Great tips Lou! With all the funthings to do in New York, a smart phone is a great tool to help ease your NYC Sightseeing experience.

We visited Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center and the Empire State Building Observatory. They’re both great but I would say at the end of the day that the Empire State Building view is the most famous of all. The new 80th floor exhibit was fascinating!! I didn’t even know about it until I was there. Also the building underwent a major renovation and restored the lobby ceiling to its original look as it appeared in 1931. That alone is worth going to see.
NY Skyride: Thank you for your great review of the Empire State Building Observatory. Not all are aware of Empire State Building facts like the 80th floor and ceiling renovation. Great insight!

Our friends said that our tours of New York City should include a New City York Bus Tour, the Empire State Building Observatory and the New York Skyride. It was so easy to get around with the buses and the view from the Empire State Building was just geat. The Skyride was an awful lot of fun too!
Our New York vacation was just so memorable and we can’t wait to get back again to see the Madame Tussaud’s museum which we didn’t have enough time to see.
NY Skyride: Great to hear of your wonderful NYC Sightseeing Experience by way of New York City Bus Tour! We're happy you were able to hop off and enjoy NY Skyride.

The Empire State Building in NYC has to be one of the most unique places to visit. Having toured other famous towers, once you’ve visited the Empire Building, you’ll see why it’s one of New York City’s highlights.
I went twice – once to experience it by day and once by night. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? ABSOLUTELY! I could have saved some money if I had the NYC Pass which would have allowed me free admission at least one of the two times. There is nothing more spectacular than getting a real live panorama of the city on a clear night. Also combining it with the Skyride in the building saved time and money by buying a combo ticket.
NY Skyride: We are thrilled to hear of your great experience of saving time and money by purchasing the Skyride + Empire State Building Observation Deck Combo ticket. If interested in visiting us a third time, you can save even more by purchasing your NYC Pass here at our website.

Columbus Day Weekend 2001 was a time of sad discovery and mourning for my family. As my husband, my best freind, my eight year old daughter and I looked at the still smoking pile that was the Twin Towers, we heard God Bless America playing on the wonderful NY Circle Line tour and tears leaked from already worn out eyes.
Ten years later, we're retracing our steps this Columbus Day. We will visit the 911 Memorial and we will trace the names of the 5 souls our hometown high school in Seaford NY lost that day. We look toward the future with hope for the great city of New York and the great people of our nation.
Though time has eased the pain of a very tough day, no one will never forget, I pray that God bless the souls of those lost, thier families, and the first responders. And may God bless America.
(Oh yes, and please Lord, Bless the New York Yankees. Amen)

We toured the city on bicycle (Central Park Bicycle Rental), on foot (Uncle Sams Walking Tours) and by boat (Circle Line Cruises). But we couldn’t afford one of those 15 minute NYC helicopter tours (OMG-have you seen what it costs-yikes!). So next best thing we did was the New York SKYRIDE.
By buying Empire State Building tickets together with the Skyride we saved time and some money too. The guys on the street with the orange buttons and ID’s sell Combo tickets that were very worthwhile. I’m not a roller coaster fan but I enjoyed the ‘tour’ of the moving Skyride. Of course nothing beats the view from the Empire State Building Observation deck (just wish they had some guides up there!)
NY Skyride: Thank you Janice for your great review. And what an expert you are on NYC Sightseeing! We're glad you consider the city's only virtual tour simulator, NY Skyride a top attraction and an affordable and unique alternative to NYC Helicopter tours.

Like nostalgia? Then the New York Skyride is for you! This ‘state of the art’ ride is just that…except back in 1995.
HOWEVER…
It really is still a lot of fun providing visitors and native New Yorkers a ride akin to one of the NYC helicopter tours. It’s movin’ and shakin’ are fun and give an overall perspective to how New York was 15 years ago. I mean remember the old Yankee Stadium? Or the street hawkers with the watches in the pockets? How about a 1995 Chevy Caprice taxi! Still the Skyride is unique and for things to see in New York, especially with kids, I wouldn’t pass it up.
NY Skyride: Thank you for your feedback! When looking for fun things to do in New York, especially for families, our virtual tour simulator is a must experience.

My 90 year-old Grandpa and I waited outside an Applebees as my parents argued inside with a manager about the poor service we had. I was told to wait outside with him because he gets too worked up over money.
My Grandpa acted as if he didn't know what was going on inside but wandered in; I reluctantly let him. Next thing you know, I look in through the windows a moment later and people at the bar turn their heads to him as he is being forced back towards the front door by my dad. He's hollering and threatening the manager and flipping out shouting "you're taking advantage of me!" even though the meal was not on his tab, but my dad's.
We were kicked out of an Applebees. My mom (my grandpa's daughter) yelled at him for the embarassment all the way home. My dad and I stayed ahead to let them duke it out. As we walked, an enormous NY rat scattered by.
NY Skyride: Sorry to hear about your Grandpa's experience at Applebees, but we hope your family will go New York City sightseeing again very soon!
