We just finished a vacation tour in New York city. As a former New Yorker, now living in Spain. I was amazed how much New York has grown in just a few years. Sightseeing New York with a NYC Pass made life simple, enjoyable and most importantly affordable. We were able to go to many museums and other attractions all for one cost because the pass includes so many different things to see in New York. Best of all, I jumped on the subway to show my wife where I grew up in the Bronx near Yankee Stadium. I would say that was almost a highlight of my trip!
NY Skyride: Exprincing New York threw a natives eyes is one of the best ways to get to know this great city. The NY Pass allows natives and visitors alike to enjoy the city.

Sightseeing new York City is best done when no one is here. I take the family in February when all the holiday revelers have gone home and the attractions and restaurants are very happy to have my business. Things are far less crowded, less expensive too. Look at hotel rates in season and you’ll know what I mean. Was hoping it would snow while I’m there – there’s nothing more pretty than the New York Public Library or the Stock exchange in the winter!
NY Skyride: Your right winter is one of the best times of year to see New York. Also knowing that NY Skyride is a indoor attaction it is perfect for all seasons.

Talk about things to see in New York??? OMG – the list is literally endless. We even took in a Giants game and it was barely half hour out of New York. The game was great the fans were great. The family found enough in common to enjoy the Intrepid Museum, MOMA, Empire State State Building Observation Deck and the New York Skyride. We ate at Delmonicos (pricey but great, and Two Brothers pizza where we got $1 a slice pizza and it was VERY good. Hey New York, I wish I could live here!
NY Skyride: So happy to hear that we have made a New Yorker out of you. Come visit us again. There is so much more of the city left to see!

I think New York Student Travel has gotten easier and easier. With the advent of so many apps starting from foursquare to gogobot.com and so many hostel booking engines, online subway and bus maps…this city has become fairly easy to navigate. Many discounts are available online it’slike the Group travel discounts that were once only available to groups. Even the NYC Pass can be ordered online and picked up within minutes of ordering. What an age we live in!
NY Skyride: Happy to see that access has gotten easier to all the great deals on things to in the city. They are always amazing deals for every trip budget to NYC.

One thing you can always say about this city…there are always things to see in New York! I’m a native New Yorker and the last time I ‘toured’ my own city , I was a young student. So I looked around…OMG! I rented a bike at Bike N Roll, did a walking tour with Uncle Sam’s walking tours, visited for Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum (embarrisingly for the first time). Also went to the Empire State Building Observation deck and the New York Skyride with a Combo ticket. I even managed an hour at the new CSI exhibit which was quite interesting though a bit pricey ( as most NY things are)
Even if you’re a native…this town always has stuff to do!
NY Skyride: Wow! Sight seeing should be your middle name. Also your right there is always something to do in this city for evey kind of budget.

With prices so expensive in NY, we found a way to see the city and still get to what’s equivalent to group travel discounts. By visitingnewyorkattractionpasses.com, we got a great overview of various top flite discount passes. While AAA and other organizations have good discounts, you need to belong to them to take advantage of discounted tours on new York..
This site explained the passes really well – which ones work on a time frame vs. which ones work on how many places you can see. We liked the amount of things you could do with the NYC Pass but in the end settled on the Explorer Pass which allowed us to do New York at a more leisurely pace.
NY Skyride: Thank you for the tips! NYC tourist attractions can be very valuable when using NYC Pass packages like the Explorer Pass and the New York Pass, the latter available right here on our website!

Sightseeing New York City is one big monster when you’re ill equipped to handle it. There are books, maps, guides pamphlets…you’ll practically drown in a city that’s open 24 hours a day.
With so many things to see in New York I suggest you start thinking about using a smartphone to help you. There are apps for coupons and discounts (Groupon, LivingSocial, Goldstar), reviews (Tripadvisor), planners (Gogobot.com), and so much more. New York City sightseeing can even be done via a walking tours available shortly on a smartphone!
NY Skyride: Great tips Lou! With all the funthings to do in New York, a smart phone is a great tool to help ease your NYC Sightseeing experience.

Like nostalgia? Then the New York Skyride is for you! This ‘state of the art’ ride is just that…except back in 1995.
HOWEVER…
It really is still a lot of fun providing visitors and native New Yorkers a ride akin to one of the NYC helicopter tours. It’s movin’ and shakin’ are fun and give an overall perspective to how New York was 15 years ago. I mean remember the old Yankee Stadium? Or the street hawkers with the watches in the pockets? How about a 1995 Chevy Caprice taxi! Still the Skyride is unique and for things to see in New York, especially with kids, I wouldn’t pass it up.

my favorite place to be is NYC, because of all the beautiful views of such beautiful things! My favorite though is the rockefeller center because that is where i have most memories. Every christmas my family and i go to new york and we head straight for the tree. and we also go ontop of the building. my favorite part of the building is the chandelear of the empire state building, upside down! New york city is the best place to be!!! i love all the sights and seeings.
NY Skyride: Thank you for your entry Maryjean! Rocketfeller Center is beautiful. Especially around the holidays. And we're thrilled to learn how much you enjoyed the Empire State Building attractions during your NYC sightseeing adventures. We hope you visit again this year.

I remember as a college kid coming to NYC on a New York Student Travel trip. We did a New York City bus tour (I think it was a company called Apple Tours, a double decker bus company now defunct). We also did a 2 hour cruise on the famous Circle Line boats on the Hudson River as well as one or two hours on their neighbor, the historic Intrepid Museum, a converted WWII aircraft carrier.
The trip was very memorable and I am going to repeat the trip with my girlfriend this summer. The only difference is I’m going to buy a NYC Pass. This is a super great deal where you can get over 100 things to do for one set price! I’ll tell you how great it is on another blog.
NY Skyride: New York student travel is always fun and easy with a New York City bus tour. I'm glad your bust trip and your visit to Circle Line Cruises and Intrepid Museum were so memorable for you. And yes! The NYC City Pass is a great way to see multiple NYC tourist attractions in one, two or seven days. Feel free to purchase your passes right here on our website and remember - start your day early. Our virtual tour simulator opens at 8AM and so does the Empire State Building observation deck. Have fun!

If you’re going to do a tour in new york city and looking for things to see in New York – I can’t think of a better way than to get the NYC Pass. Knowing how expensive the city is (I choked on the hotel breakfast bill), I thought this was the best deal in the world. With the New York Pass you can see many museums, do hop on hop off tours on double decker buses, take bike tours, walking tours and so much more. The book was so chock full of stuff that at the end of the day we usually had a burger or pizza instead of going for a fancy dinner. We were just too pooped to go party anymore.
I highly suggest the New York Pass as one of the best deals for sightseeing in New York!
NY Skyride: Thank you for your post Barbara. And what a great tip! The NYC pass is a great deal sold right here at skyride.com and offers free entry to nearly every New York City tourist attraction there is. So glad you enjoyed your trip.

I've never been to New York so I have no inspirational story to tell but I've always wanted to go. The Yankees have always been my favorite team but I never thought I'd have the chance to see them. Thank you for listening.
NY Skyride: No, Kristen, thank you for posting. There are such wonderful things to see in New York. Best of luck on your contest entry. We look forward to one day welcoming you.

I only live 100 miles from New York with 2 younger kids and I was thinking…after the museums, what are fun things to do in New York? I mean I’ve done the Circle Line Cruises, the Statue of Liberty and other activities but I’ve never taken the kids to the Empire State Building in NYC!
So we jumped in the car, parked (actually found a free spot on the street on Sunday!) just one block from the building. Then some guys approach us and start selling us on this thing…the New York Skyride. I’m thinking “Am I being had?” So I figured – they had badges and ID and I used a credit card that I could always dispute and bought the COMBO package of the Empire State Building and the Skyride. One of the claims was we would be able to cut our wait to the famous Empire State Building Observation Deck…and that’s what the kids wanted to do most!
They walked us in the side entrance of the building and before we knew it we were going into the Skyride. All I can say is, it may be a little dated but the kids LOVED it!! It was like those NYC helicopter tours but with out the helicopter ticket price!! After half an hour it was up to the Observatory – we couldn’t have asked for a better day – you could see for miles. My only challenge was that there are no guides and no one to ask any questions…bummer. After half an hour we went back down, had lunch and took a leisurely drive home.
It’s 2 weeks later and the kids are asking to go back!
NY Skyride: Happy to hear you had a great time! We look forward to seeing you again.

Looking for things to see in New York that are NOT Top 10 but are a little unusual? I did Ripley’s Museum – that’s weird stuff. You can also check out the Bodies exhibit, recently upgraded but still not good for the squeamish type. Dead Apple Tours takes you on a fantastic trip on a specially converted 1960 Cadillac Hearse. I’ll leave you to guess what the tour is about.
If you’re here for a longer trip, take a break for a day at one of the New York Water Taxi beaches available at the Seaport and in Queens. For a simulated NYC helicopter tour that is part story and part touristy hop a ride on the New York Skyride at the Empire State Building. While on the ride topic, try the new bus called THE RIDE, really cool (but expensive) and a little quirky way to do sightseeing in New York.
NY Skyride: Wow...you really know New York! I am guessing that you are an experienced NYC tourist. Thanks for the tips.

Empire State Building Observation Deck is the first place all my out-of-town friends and family wants to see. So, I always make sure they first see it from a distance with the different color lights and then take them to the top to see the rest of NYC for New York City sightseeing.
